Introduction

Virginia Ward Mills(Ginnie) andE. Andrew Mills(Drew) were accomplished artists who worked and exhibited frequently throughout their adult life. Both primarily painted, Ginnie in oil, and Drew in acrylic, although they each experimented with other media at various times throughout their careers. As artists they were known by their formal names Virginia Ward Mills and E. Andrew Mills. However to friends and acquaintances they were Ginnie and Drew.

Ginnie taught elementary and middle school art for many years, and Drew taught kindergarten through college, then spent much of his career as an arts administrator for New York State. They had many talents and interests and were active in many ways in the communities in which they lived and loved--Schenectady, NY and the "Capital District," and outer Cape Cod. These included community theater, singing and acting (Drew), scenic painting and set design (Ginnie), among many other activities. However, this site focuses primarily on their art.
